Lazy Saurday's Poem: Summer HeatThe summer sand was so hot
it almost melted our feet
so that the water-cooled sand
felt like a bit of heaven.
But we put our blankets
on the searing sand anyhow,
and we listened to laughing children
and raucously rude gulls crying overhead.
The sound of the waves
into the beach
sang a summer lullabye.
The sun skipped across
the tops of the waves
and the heat melted
our bodies together.
Poem by Scarlett Treat
Lazy Saturday's Poem: The WorldSome are the brothers of all humankind,
And own them, whatsoever their estate;
And some, for sorrow and self-scorn, are blind
With enmity for man's unguarded fate.
For some there is a music all day long
Like flutes in Paradise, they are so glad;
And there is hell's eternal under-song
Of curses and the cries of men gone mad.
Some say the Scheme with love stands luminous,
Some say 't were better back to chaos hurled;
And so 't is what we are that makes for us
The measure and the meaning of the world.
Poem by Edwin Arlington Robinson
Lazy Saturday's Poem: A Sleepless NightApril, and the last of the plum blossoms
scatters on the black grass
before dawn. The sycamore, the lime,
the struck pine inhale
the first pale hints of sky.
An iron day,
I think, yet it will come
dazzling, the light
rise from the belly of leaves and pour
burning from the cups
The mockingbird squawks
from his perch, fidgets,
and settles back. The snail, awake
for good, trembles from his shell
and sets sail for China. My hand dances
in the memory of a million vanished stars.
A man has every place to lay his head.
Poem by Paul Laurence Dunbar
Lazy Saturday's Poem: Father and ChildShe hears me strike the board and say
That she is under ban
Of all good men and women,
Being mentioned with a man
That has the worst of all bad names;
And thereupon replies
That his hair is beautiful,
Cold as the March wind his eyes.
Poem written by William Butler Yeats

And he passed away. As he was 8 y.o. - too early....
I was broken - day by day I was feeling worse and worse... I felt, I will never be happy anymore.
Do you know that feeling when you just wanna hide somewhere and die calmly? I felt like that.
You will never be forgotten, Caesar.
Rest in peace
Someday I will see you again, my Friend.
The difference between Vector and Vexel ArtAfter writing my first article on an introduction to getting into vexel and vector art, a question was raised to do with the differences between the art forms.
I guess being so engrossed with the art forms for over 6 years now, I've taken my knowledge for granted. It's typical of any artist in most genres. What knowledge and skill set we have is second nature. So my second article, I'd like to show and explain you the differences between Vexel and Vector art. So I present to you, the dummies guide to the difference between vexel and vector art!
Looking straight at the work, it's hard to tell the difference between a skillfully created vexel and a vector. This is because they are not a style of art, but a medium of art.
When we say a "medium" we mean with how a piece of art is created or what with. For instance we have both traditional and digital paintings. A traditional painting is created with, for example,
Magazines and Journals looking for your work.I have compiled a brief list of Magazines and Journals that accept unsolicited submissions from writers and artists of varying levels of experience.
What unsolicited means is that you may send them your work without being asked for it first. Also, if you just follow their submission guidelines, there is typically no need for a cover letter either. If you would still like to include a cover letter, please make sure it is concise and professional.
The publications listed accept everything from Poetry to Fiction to Visual Artwork.
I hope this helps some of you become a little more knowledgeable about the industry and pushes you to just take the leap and submit your work. You never know until you try.
One last note: Most magazines and journals do not accept simultaneous submissions. What that means is that you must only submit your piece to one publication at a time. It is a waiting game to hear back from them, b
Art Theft: your [copy] right and responsibility!People are often concerned with online art theft and it's usually one the main reason artists are nervous about posting their artwork online: "What if someone steals my work and claims it as their own?" Worse still, "What if they sell it and make money from my work?" Whether its for profit or not is beside the point; our hard work and creativity means a lot to all of us, and to have someone simply save our image and post it as their own work often feels like a slap in the face.
deviantART is a big place, and with nearly 45 million deviations (at the time this news article was posted), its an easy target for art theft. Often, you wont know your work is stolen, and if you do it's often too late; sometimes still, there's little you can do about having it removed from the grips of whoever stole it. While it is your right to demand protection for your work and websites to remove illegally displayed art work, its also imp
Non-Existent - An ASCII/ANSI contestI've held two ASCII art contests in the past and there have been plenty of interesting entries, but this time the contest will be bigger and also accept ANSI entries. Even if you have never made ASCII art before, I encourage you to participate. Take the contest as a challenge and don't think you don't stand a chance. The winners of my first ASCII contest hardly had any previous experience with ASCII art.
So what are these ASCII and ANSI things?
Basically, ASCII art is the kind of text art you could create in Notepad or in a typewriter. The characters are equally wide and spaced, as if they were placed in an invisible grid. ASCII can be colored, but it is usually in black and white.

ANSI art is a very specific artform, heavily relying on its restricted medium, the ANS

DAM your photosNo disrespect intended...
Digital Asset Management (DAM)is a tool you should learn about.
I want to present two basic ideas, in 3 simple steps (and tips), to help you manage your photography work better. The first is managing you work on you computer (organizing it), and the second is the keywords and tags you add to it when submitting your work on-line.
A few words of introduction first. If you are a starting photographer, this is very important for you. The experienced ones will find it hard to Re-manage all the work they have done, and they probably have a system they work with (working, or not). However, if you are starting now to accumulate your photographs and submitting it on-line, this is essential for you, and easier to do.
Shell we begin?
1. Managing your photographs
This simple method is based on dates and places. The steps are all centered on creating a folder structure organized around the dates and places you took the pictures on.

Comms ON HOLD, Waitlist OPENWrite me a NOTE about commissions and wait list!
PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMISSIONS:
Please try to write clearer what you really want to see in your commission (it's always hard to redraw a lot of details that you could inform me earlier);
If you don't know how to describe - give me more visual refs (images);
I don't work with deadlines! (Be patient please, arts takes time). But no too long: 3-4 weeks max! ;
If you're not sure in my level - don't need to commission me, seriously, I'm not a high level artist;

Lazy Saturday's Poem: The Cat And The Moon The cat went here and there
And the moon spun round like a top,
And the nearest kin of the moon,
The creeping cat, looked up.
Black Minnaloushe stared at the moon,
For, wander and wail as he would,
The pure cold light in the sky
Troubled his animal blood.
Minnaloushe runs in the grass
Lifting his delicate feet.
Do you dance, Minnaloushe, do you dance?
When two close kindred meet.
What better than call a dance?
Maybe the moon may learn,
Tired of that courtly fashion,
A new dance turn.
Minnaloushe creeps through the grass
